Royal Warrants are a mark of recognition to individuals or companies who have supplied goods or services for at least five years to HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh or HRH The Prince of Wales. Warrants have always been regarded as demonstrating excellence and quality, and are highly prized.
The Royal Warrant Holders Association required a public facing website that allowed users to discover more about the Royal Warrants but also to browse the companies that hold them. More importantly they required a members website that kept all Warrant Holders up to date with the latest news, events and offers exclusively available to them.
The Process
Firstly we had to become emersed in the association and understand what it meant to hold one of these prestigeous Warrants. The challenge was to create a public site that reflects the heritage of the Royal Warrants and their values of excellence, quality and reliabilty. Although the site features a directory of Warrant holders the emphasis of the website is the Royal Warrants and we were told to avoid highlighting any particular company as not to show favouritism.
The members website was more of excersise is interface design. It was required to be very simple and functional for the Warrant holders. The main reason for the site is to create an online community for the members and act as a central information hub to keep them up to date.
The purple pages followed the members site and is an internal tool for the Royal house to search the database of Royal Wararant Holders.
